GOLA MULTICUISINE RESTAURANT & BAR
Changing Perception,
Not Just Identity
ALL PROJECTS
THE OPPORTUNITY
Every city demands a different conversation.
Gola Sizzlers is a well-established legacy brand with nearly two decades of presence and multiple outlets across Delhi. When the brand expanded into Mumbai with its first outlet, the objective wasn't simply to replicate what had worked elsewhere, it was to build a brand that felt relevant to a completely different audience.
Located in Times Square, Andheri East, the restaurant sat at the heart of one of Mumbai's busiest corporate hubs. The surrounding audience was younger, experience-driven and increasingly looking for places that offered more than just great food. They wanted spaces to celebrate, unwind after work, socialise over crafted cocktails and create memorable evenings.
Yet the existing brand identity continued to communicate what Gola had always been known for, a restaurant centered primarily around sizzlers.
That positioning no longer reflected the business the founders were building.
The challenge wasn't to modernise the identity.
It was to redefine what Gola's first Mumbai chapter needed to represent.

DESIGNING AROUND PERCEPTION
Once the positioning was defined, the visual identity became a natural extension of it.
The original blue and red palette evolved into a vibrant system of orange and yellow, bringing greater warmth, energy and visibility while reinforcing the atmosphere Gola wanted customers to associate with.
The logo was refined rather than reinvented, preserving the familiarity of the legacy brand while improving its adaptability across modern applications.
More importantly, every visual element was evaluated through one lens:
Does this reinforce the experience we want customers to remember?
If it didn't, it didn't make the cut.

DESIGNING FOR THE AUDIENCE,
NOT THE INDUSTRY
One of the biggest decisions we made was choosing who the brand should speak to.
Instead of leaning into the conventions of traditional family dining, the refreshed identity was designed for the people surrounding the restaurant every day.
Young professionals finishing work.
Corporate teams planning celebrations.
Millennials looking for memorable evenings.
Groups searching for an energetic place to meet over food and crafted cocktails.
The identity wasn't designed to chase trends.
It was designed to feel relevant to the people Gola wanted to attract.
That distinction shaped everything: from colour and typography to messaging and in-store communication.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Le Soleil, we believe the strongest brands aren't built by changing how they look.
They're built by changing what people expect before they walk through the door.
Design is never our starting point.
Strategy is.
Once positioning is clear, identity becomes intentional. Menus become more than layouts. Collateral becomes more than signage. Colours become more than decoration.
Every touchpoint begins telling the same story.
That's what this project achieved.
Not a new identity for Gola.
A new perception for its first chapter in Mumbai.

STRATEGY BEFORE DESIGN
At Le Soleil, we don't believe branding begins with colours or logos.
It begins with positioning.
Before exploring a single visual direction, we worked closely with the founders to understand not only where the business stood today, but where it wanted to be tomorrow.
The strategic opportunity became clear.
Mumbai didn't need another family dining restaurant.
It needed a destination.
A place where teams gathered after work, friends celebrated milestones, cocktails started conversations and great food completed the experience.
That shift became the foundation of the entire project.
Our objective wasn't to distance Gola from its legacy.
It was to evolve that legacy into a brand that felt equally relevant in Mumbai.
Every design decision that followed was rooted in that strategy.

CREATING A BRAND ECO-SYSTEM
Rather than redesigning isolated assets, we built a cohesive identity system that extended across every customer touchpoint.
Our scope included:
-
Brand positioning
-
Brand identity refinement
-
Logo optimisation
-
Colour system
-
Brand language
-
Menu redesign
-
Restaurant collateral
-
Environmental branding
-
Promotional collateral
-
Event branding
-
Marketing assets
Every element was intentionally designed to communicate the same idea: Gola wasn't just a restaurant to dine at, it was a place to celebrate, connect and spend time well.
Consistency across these touchpoints ensured the repositioning wasn't something customers merely noticed; it was something they experienced.
